In the 19th century, more than 1000 salt workers worked on the Ile de Ré, today there are only a hundred. Salt producers on the Île de Ré perpetuate the working of salt with ancestral techniques. This charming beach, bordered by the forest of Lizay, offers many activities: kite-surfing, bodyboarding, kite-flying, shore fishing, surfing, sailing, etc. You can easily reach the beaches of the village of Les Portes en Ré.
